LC Technologies is raising money to support the Brigance Brigade 5.7K event taking place in Baltimore this weekend. On Saturday, April 5 at 8:00 a.m., runners and walkers will gather to participate in a timed 5.7K run, a 1 mile run/walk, and a kids’ fun run.
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Brigance Brigade Foundation, whose mission it is to equip, encourage and empower people living with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). The Foundation strives to improve the quality of life of ALS patients and their families by providing access to much needed equipment and services.
This 5.7K event will be held in honor of former Baltimore Ravens Player O.J. Brigance, an ALS patient himself, whose jersey number was 57. In 2007, while playing racquetball at the Ravens’ facility, OJ noticed that he didn’t have the same strength and range of motion in his right arm. After a battery of tests with a neurologist, he was given the diagnosis of ALS.
Since OJ’s diagnosis, he and his wife Chanda have worked through the challenges of living with ALS with the support of family, friends and faith. They created the Brigance Brigade Foundation so that others receiving this diagnosis could be supported with information, financial means, and equipment to live a quality life.
If you will be in the Baltimore area this weekend, please consider joining our team for this event. The run will take place at Canton Waterfront Park, and parking is free at Canton Crossing Parking Lot (1500 S. Clinton Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21224.)
LC Technologies has pledged $1,000 to support the Foundation’s wonderful work for those living with ALS.
