LC Technologies will attend ATiA 2014 Orlando, which is an informative conference held by the Assistive Technology Industry Association. The conference will take place from January 29 through February 1 at the Caribe Royale All-Suites Resort & Convention Center. LC Technologies will be set up in Booth #211, and we would like to meet you if you plan to attend!
In addition, LC Technologies’ Nancy Cleveland will present a talk entitled, “Eyegaze Systems: How They Work; What You Need to Know” on January 30th at 8:00 a.m. in room Curacao 2.
ATiA 2014 Orlando has a lot to offer people who are interested in assistive technologies. Special educators, researchers, rehabilitation counselors, occupational therapists, and anyone interested in learning how technology can be leveraged to help people live better lives, can all benefit from attending. Parents and students who are interested in technology for disabled people can also learn a lot from this conference.
Some of the topics explored include best practices as well as standards and policies in the design and development of assistive technologies (AT). Also, AT for augmentative and alternative communication, AT for blind/low vision, deaf/hard of hearing, and deaf/blind in personal, educational and workplace solutions will be explored. Other topics presented include research and development with studies of consumer performance, attitudes, and use of AT, as well as the use of AT with students of all ages and with employees in the workplace.
As you can see, ATiA 2014 Orlando will offer a thorough look at the world of AT, and we are very excited to participate and to meet others who are as passionate about assistive technology as we are.
